A straight adze with edges bent up and a slight sweep put in it. The 2 handed GB adze did work well, but is not designed for chair seats, the handle is a bit short to be comfortable use with the seat on the floor. I would want the width of shavings to be 2+ inch wide .Seanhellmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17475536325768589469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-855691040587882776.post-885771990479645662013-06-15T16:57:48.430+01:002013-06-15T16:57:48.430+01:00So what is your favorite adze for chair seats? So what is your favorite adze for chair seats?Matthew Hickeyhttp://handmadebyhickey.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-855691040587882776.post-66299648205771906412013-06-13T10:01:45.215+01:002013-06-13T10:01:45.215+01:00Slitting bark prior to peeling?Slitting bark prior to peeling?mrcharlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13270251143014755896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-855691040587882776.post-66022652900701824042013-06-11T09:21:09.038+01:002013-06-11T09:21:09.038+01:00Sherwood! everyone loves sherwood, he was showing ...Sherwood! everyone loves sherwood, he was showing off his metal handled froe the other day in the shire. God knows what he's done to that poor axe! just kidding well i know i have sharpened axes a bit like that for hollowing spoons so the heel cuts symmetrically when chopping into bowls. I have, on several occasions, turned dry wood in order to fill out my inventory for up-coming events in order to have something to sell. Yesterday, after watching, I went out and split some over dry beech to make some stirring spoons for a customer. Of course beech is slightly oily so it turned rather well and burnished nicely.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-855691040587882776.post-2126706494996826612013-03-28T18:24:58.594+00:002013-03-28T18:24:58.594+00:00I think it just you Richard, do try again, could b...I think it just you Richard, do try again, could be just one of these annoying computer glitches.Seanhellmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17475536325768589469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-855691040587882776.post-55992341707172135732013-03-28T08:25:03.734+00:002013-03-28T08:25:03.734+00:00Hi Sean!
